Product Description
Vanessa Saint-Pierre Delacroix and Her Nightmare
Vanessa Saint-Pierre Delacroix and Her Nightmare
36 levels of challenging gameplay
Vanessa Saint-Pierre Delacroix and Her Nightmare
Blocks may move from room to room

Vanessa Saint-Pierre Delacroix faces a serious issue--and it's not just signing her name. She is stuck. She is stuck on a six-sided, 3D cube with nothing but a key, a door, and her wits--which are controlled by you. Did her nightmare just become worse?

This is more than just a puzzle game. It's a 3D, spider-infested, stupefying, wonderfully-horrific puzzle nightmare.

Curiosity Captured Vanessa

Vanessa loves two things: puzzles and exploring, and her meddling curiosity has gotten you both into all kinds of mind-boggling trouble. One day, while exploring her father's antique shop, she discovers a mysterious, mechanical box. After fiddling around with it, the box sucks her and her world inside. Use your considerable puzzle-solving skills to twist and turn her way to freedom.

The Stuff of 3D Nightmares

Across more than three dozen levels, guide Vanessa from the entrance of each level to the exit until she finally makes it home. Standing between her and freedom are a number of gameplay mechanics. Move blocks and turn faces of the cube to navigate Vanessa out of this nightmare.

What's so mind-boggling about that, you ask? The two-dimensional world lies on the surface of a three-dimensional magic cube, and you must rotate each face of the cube to find the multiple solutions to only one exit per level.

Return to the Underworld

And it's not just hard the first time. You'll be tempted to go back and replay levels to earn more coins, achievements, and better solutions to each puzzle--as if your productivity in the real world wasn't disrupted enough the first time around.

Now We're Just Showing Off

Maybe you normally dream in black-and-white, but this game is a nightmare deluxe. Vanessa Saint-Pierre Delacroix and Her Nightmare won Best Design in the Independent Game Developers Competition and was a nominee and finalist for the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences Awards, Indie Game Challenge, sponsored by GameStop. Additionally, it was the PAX 10 Official Selection by Penny Arcade Expo.

Enjoy award-winning game design from acclaimed designer, David Sushil complemented with music by Telethon.

You might figure that given the long name of this title, that it might have a little to do with games like The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom or other such gems that have been released in the last couple years. And you'd be right! This is a clever little game that kept me entertained, even though I usually prefer sports/shooter apps. The story line is kind of weird, with a box destroying Vanessa's entire city, but beyond that I enjoyed everything else about this game. It's essentially a 2D platformer/puzzle solving game projected into a 3D cube - meaning you can alter Vanessa's orientation by swiping the cube to move the plane of the game (90 degree shift), making for two dynamics of puzzle solving. This creates some really fun puzzles that aren't super hard, but still make you think and smile when you solve them. Probably about 3-5 hours of playability, depends on skill level. Great art direction too, even on a phone (Droid X). Definitely worth a download!

This is probably the only original game I've played in a super long time!! Awesome tutorial, tons of levels, achievements, leader boards, and tons of replay-ability (so many different ways to win) since I'm always trying to get a better score with all the coins....if you like puzzle games with a serious twist then you're going to this one. A+++++++ I can't wait for more levels or the next version now!!

put mario and a rubix cube in a box with some spiders and an entire depressing village, and you've got this game.
Ok its alot more fun than i'm making it sound, but this is the first FAOTD in a long time that I could seriously see myself paying full price for

Fun game
Got it FAOTD, and liked it pretty well. Very cool concept, with some fun geometric puzzle play with some simple physics thrown in. Pretty cool graphics and audio.

Addictive
This is a fun puzzle like game. There is a dark sense of humor in the game that I find entertaining. Read more

disturbing
This game is confused. It's too basic for adults, and a bit too dark for kids. The introduction is pretentious and poorly executed. Read more

Well crafted puzzle platformer
I finally got around to playing this after getting it a couple of weeks ago as the faotd. My only grief is that I put it off for so long. This is a very cool puzzle platformer. Read more

Definitely fun, but not catchy fun.
I like the game, but I only play one level at a time. It's fun, but the inbetweens fail to keep me playing for longe than 5-10 mins tops.
